JG - Thanks for the tip regarding what you told me at the auction. I was paying attention to that guy and, luckily he never did bid against me on the 2 things i won.
Yeah I was watching him and he was doing it again this auction. He was also keeping a tab of what his and his buddy's bags had sold for. You're allowed to do that, bid up your buddy's stuff, but I find it a bit unsportsmanlike and not really what the spirit of the fish club auctions are really about.
There were two bags of hongi. I got mine for $11. I already had a trio at home so hopefully I'll have a decent breeding group shortly. I'm partial to the dwarf Mbuna.
The other fish are compressiceps and not calvus though they're in the same genus and both have narrow bodies. I like the look of both comps and calvus it's just that they're quite pricey to special order via a LFS and not as common to find in the auctions. There were lots of calvus and comps in the MCA and MCAS auctions but the prices usually go quite high. jred also keeps hongi. Such pretty fish.
Ah ok.. I'll have to familiarize myself more with these guys... Watched a few videos online and just way too cool of a fish!!!
