The ACA annual convention takes place from July 7-10, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio... er... Covington, Kentucky. This looks to be an interesting convention with a solid speaker lineup, room sales and a final auction on Sunday. If you love cichlids, catfish, etc. and have the time available try and attend this annual event.
Long weekend for both gtomike and I as we get our fishrooms in order for the upcoming ACA event this coming week. Moved my Labeotropheus fuelleborni into their own 75 and they immediately started spawning. New digs and he got all crazy. My Cyrtocara moorii once relieved of their former fuelleborni tank mates also began to spawn. Frisky in the Fishroom! Also moved my Cynotilapia zebroides (Jalo Reef) to a 75G to join the fuelleborni though this is a temporary home for them. Hoping to pick up some 40B tanks this week and make one of those their home. Kinda neat to watch them schooling together in their new home. I was also organizing my dry goods, i.e., food, caves, breeding gear, etc. I haven't finished organizing my dry goods as I realized that I had to shut down three 20G Long tanks for gtomike. Now that I'm outta the SA dwarf cichlid business I'm upgrading to 40B tanks to raise African cichlid fry. Good times!
Tomorrow will see my two 36x18 dual metal stands arrive just in time for me to setup a pair of 65G tanks for the ACA. Time permitting I'll also setup a few 30x12 tanks on my triplex for some growing calvus and comps. Lots to do and time keeps ticking away....
Received my two new 36x18 dual metal stands today... did I say new? Yeah they were new but some paint was off of them. With a few marks of paint off I knew that that could eventually lead to rust in the future. So I leave work, pick up my daughter from camp, cook dinner, then take her to gymnastics and finally make it to Home Hardware before the close and buy some flat black Tremclas to spray the stands. I was planning on setting up some tanks tonight and not spraying stands. Oh well. Less than 10 minutes and the new stands have a light spray put on them. They're outdoors drying. Tomorrow I bring those two stands in. Hoping to get home early from work on Tuesday to get another 75G and two 65Gs cleaned and put on stands.
Days are ticking away... gotta hit the fishroom late tonight and feed the fishies.
